We are a non-partisan fellowship, our members are active and retired
Federal employees, dedicated to protecting the interests of current
Federal employees, Federal retirees and their dependents, in concert
with other NARFE members and chapters. We regularly meet with
legislators and watch Congressional voting records to determine which
candidates support our goals and are helping protect our future.
The Fort Myers Chapter meets the second Monday of the month
at Smoke'n Pit Restaurant. Meetings start at 10:30. There will be a wide
variety of good food for your luncheon and always a luncheon special.
Your luncheon cost will be your selection. Our meetings consist of a guest
speaker and the necessary chapter business, then we adjourn and enjoy our
lunch while we catch up with the happenings from our friends and chapter members.
Our next meeting will be September 10th, 10:30 am at SMOKE'N PIT, 1641 N. Tamiami Trail, N. Ft Myers - in the private room.

SOMETHING FOR NARFE MEMBERS TO CONSIDER
an Honorary/Distinguished Member, you need read no
further. For the rest of us, I hope you will consider dues
withholding (DW). The DW option saves you 15% of your
national dues (chapter dues are separate). DW means that
instead of paying a lump sum every year, one twelfth of
your dues is taken out of your pension each month, you
save that 15%, neither you nor NARFE has to pay postage
for renewal notices, and your membership does not
expire (but if you expire, your dues automatically stop
being deducted from your pension). For Florida residents
opting for DW, there is currently a contest with first prize
$300, and two $50 prizes. The drawing will occur in
May 2012 at our state convention and you do not
have to be present to win. If you wish to enter this drawing

file the form now, you do not have to wait until your current membership expires as DW will not go into effect until your
dues expire. Now, if DW does not appeal to you, you can also
save money by choosing to renew on the two and/or three
year plan.
